Letter from the Director
Welcome to the relaunch of Content! Since you’re either reading this in pixels instead of ink, you’ve obviously noticed we’ve changed it up since our last issue. We hope you enjoy the new format; we think it’s striking. At the Custom Content Council, we practice what we preach: this issue is rich with content.
We spoke with Amanda Alltree, senior director of marketing for Marriott Hotel’s Autograph Collection, and learned how their collaboration with American Express Custom Media produced content for three-dozen boutique hotels and helped grow the brand.
While we are namedropping brands, we also have an exclusive interview with AJ Brustein, global senior brand manager at the Coca-Cola Company. He told us about his company’s commitment to content, The Coca-Cola Content 2020, and provided us with an outrageous example of how content yielded results for a candy bar in Europe.
We also had an inspiring chat with iostudio Senior Director Keith Kawasaki, whose company was drafted by the Army National Guard to service their troops with a lifestyle magazine, GX®, The Guard Experience.
As the technology fueling the content world continues to evolve, we want to share some new tools that can help content creators streamline the process. Check out the CMS created by PublishThis CEO Matthew Kumin and his team, who are banking that the future of publishing lies in content curation.
There’s plenty more in our new issue and we hope you spend time with it. Share your thoughts and opinions on the Custom Content Council blog.
Finally, we hope to see you at the podium in New York on November 5th collecting a Pearl Award for your work—or in the audience cheering on your colleagues.
